PULL UP NEIGHBOR
The Players Alliance is investing ONE MILLION DOLLARS to support communities of color in a safe, socially distant and responsible capacity, while providing them with the resources they need most this winter. Their needs are great, so our efforts must be greater. In order to institute significant changes, we need to be able to pull up to as many Black communities as possible to help give folks the resources they need, whether it be food, aid, comforts, and of course, access to equipment and spaces to play baseball.
OUR TOUR
The Players Alliance has partnered with Pull Up Neighbor, a Black-owned community response team that will aid our efforts to reach tens of thousands of our neighbors in need.
TPA’s Pull Up Neighbor mobile tour will feature the following stations at each of our events:

GEAR FOR GOOD
Our main attraction, providing baseball gear and equipment to Black youth/teens and teams

POP-UP PANTRY
In partnership with local food banks, each location will feature a pop-up pantry, providing fresh produce and shelf-stable products

COVID RESOURCE STATION
Supplying face coverings, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products

The Players Alliance has been monitoring the evolving COVID-19 surge in California over the past several weeks. In order to mitigate risk and help keep everyone safe, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the events scheduled January 15-23 in compliance with the statewide shutdown and associated travel advisory issued throughout the State of California. Our scheduled tour stops in Barstow, San Diego, Inglewood, Compton, Watts, Fresno, San Francisco, Oakland, and Vallejo have been canceled.
We are committed to doing our part to help protect our players, partners, volunteers, and community members. We are working closely with our MLB team partners to ensure the essential items being mobilized by our tour continue to be provided and the communities we had hoped to reach will still be supported.
Our team looks forward to resuming programming during the 2021 season, and encourages you to stay tuned to our website and social channels for updates.
Teamwork makes the dream work. Together, we can keep each other safe today for a healthier tomorrow.

With your help, we can impact even more lives. Sign up to volunteer, and we will notify you if you’ve been selected. We are expecting to receive more interest than we’ll require for this tour, but we’ll keep you informed of future opportunities.
Information regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)
There is no higher priority than the safety of our volunteers, staff and the people we serve. Due to the recent global spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are taking extra precautions for our programs. Our programs are considered an essential service, hosted completely outdoors and require social distancing. We ask volunteers who have experienced any symptoms of illness in the last 14 days to stay home. There will be many more volunteer opportunities in the future.
Additionally, we are accepting volunteers aged 21 and older at this time. We are not accepting any youth volunteers.
Volunteers are required to wear cloth face coverings over their nose and mouth at all times and sign a waiver/release form.
Many individuals and organizations have asked how they can help. We’re accepting in-kind donations for our COVID Resource Station (PPE) and Gear For Good pop-up (new baseball equipment only). You will be contacted if we’re able to accept your donation.
The Players Alliance is partnering with brands and non-profit organizations that can aid our efforts in providing COVID resources, baseball equipment/supplies, and food pantry support in our pull up cities.
